LETTER 1399(DO) IS USED BY I.R.S.
FIELD OFFICE PERSONNEL TO ADVISE AN EMPLOYER THAT TECHNICAL ADVICE,
CONCERNING ITS EMPLOYEE BENEFIT PLAN, BEING REQUESTED FROM THE
I.R.S. NATIONAL OFFICE. THE LETTER ALSO REQUESTS THE EXTENT TO
WHICH THE EMPLOYER DISAGREES WITH THE FACTS AND QUESTIONS INCLUDED
IN THE LETTER. THE INFORMATION IS USED TO ENSURE THAT THE PLAN
CONFORMS WITH THE EMPLOYEE INCOME SECURITY ACT OF 1974
(ERISA).
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
