ENABLING LEGISLATION, PUBLIC LAW 93-415, MANDATES THAT THE
INSTITUTE CARRY OUT A NATIONAL CLEARINGHOUSE SERVICE FOR THE FIELD
OF CORRECTIONS. SUCH A CLEARINGHOUSE ACTIVITY WAS FORMALLY
INITIATED WHEN NIC AWARDED SEVERAL GRANTS TO PROVIDE EXPEDIENT
RESPONSE TO CORRECTIONAL PRACTITIONERS' REQUESTS FOR INFORMATION.
THE FORM IS VIEWED AS AN ESSENTIAL TOOL FOR MONITORING GRANT
ACTIVITY. IT CONTAINS QUESTION
