THE DISASTER RELIEF ACT OF 1974 (P.L.
93-288) AUTHORIZED UNEMPLOYMENT ASSISTANCE TO VICTIMS OF MAJOR
DISASTERS. THE DATA IS NEEDED TO DETERMINE THE MAGNITUDE OF THE
DISASTER UNEMPLOYMENT ASSISTANCE ACTIVITIES AND TO ESTIMATE THE
POTENTIAL UNEMPLOYMENT NEEDS RELATING TO THE DISASTER. THE DEPT. OF
LABOR ANALYZES AND USES THESE REPORTS AS THE BASIS FOR REPORTING TO
FFMA WHICH FUNDS THE DISASTER UNEMPLOYMENT ASSISTANCE
PROGRAM
