Abstract: THE FEDERAL STERILIZATION REGULATIONS AT 42 CFR 50.201-209 REQUIRE THAT PROGRAMS AND PROJECTS MAINTAIN RECORDS AND DOCUMENTATION TO ASSURE COMPLIANCE WITH THESE REGULATIONS. THEY ALSO REQUIRE PROGRAMS AND PROJECTS TO SUBMIT OTHER REPORTS AS REQUIRED TO THE SECRETARY. THE PURPOSE OF THE STERILIZATION RECORD IS PRIMARILY COMPLIANCE MONITORING AS REQUIRED BY THE DEPARTMENT'S GENERAL COUNSEL.
