Abstract: THE PURPOSE OF THIS PROGRAM IS TO INVESTIGATE EARLY REPORTS OF DRUG SHORTAGES, TO DETERMINE VALIDITY OF REPORTS THROUGH A SECONDARY SURVEY SYSTEM, AND TO ACT EXPEDITIOUSLY TO CORRECT PROBLEMS. THE INFORMATION COLLECTED HELPS FDA & ASHP TO RECOGNIZE DEVELOPING PROBLEMS AND ENABLES PHARMACISTS TO DAREFULLY UTILIZE HIS STOCK AND PLAN ALTERNATE DRUG USE.
